Community capacity proof
Camborne shows the Fan Led principle in action. Not only a community rugby story, but proof of the approach: build around people, strengthen the systems already in place and create the conditions that allow momentum to continue.
The challenge
The opportunity at Camborne RFC was to move from event-based income to continuous, year-round revenue.
The club’s revenue was concentrated in around 15 matchdays a year. The masterplan moves it from event-based to continuous income: a model built on 300+ revenue days per year.
Transforming Camborne RFC from a matchday venue into a year-round community, hospitality and sports destination.
From matchday to daily revenue
| Day | Activity | Revenue type |
|---|---|---|
| Mon to Fri | Padel / Wellness / Events | Recurring |
| Saturday | Matchday (JWO + vendors) | High volume |
| Sunday | Youth / Food / Events | Community + spend |
The masterplan
The plan turns a single community ground into a year-round destination by layering complementary revenue streams across the week, from padel and wellness midweek to matchday hospitality and community events at the weekend.
Every workstream carried a full site, compliance and risk workup: licensing, certification, structural approval, insurance and safety assessment before anything went live. Operations built around people, including the people responsible for running them.

The numbers
All figures are masterplan projections, not achieved results. The commercial rollout completes in August 2026.
The padel revenue figure uses the masterplan’s prudent scenario, the lowest of four modelled outcomes. The plan was built to be defensible, not optimistic.
The rollout
